Lynne Shuster, M.D., F.A.C.P.

ShusterDr. Lynne Shuster is an internal medicine women’s health specialist.  She is the director of the Office of Women’s Health and the founding director of the Women’s Health Clinic at Mayo Clinic. Her clinical expertise in women’s health relates to a variety of midlife women’s health concerns, including issues related to sexual health, menopause, hormone therapy and healthy aging. 

As founding director of the Mayo Clinic Women’s Health Clinic, dedicated to menopause and sexual medicine, she leads a multidisciplinary team of clinical experts from gynecology, internal medicine, sex therapy/women’s health psychology, nutrition and pelvic floor physiotherapy.  In the two and a half years since its inception, the program has grown to become recognized as a site of excellence for the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of women with sexual concerns. 

Dr. Shuster has received several awards for excellence in teaching, and the Karis Award at Mayo Clinic. As an assistant professor, clinician and past associate medical editor for the Mayo Clinic Women’s HealthSource newsletter, Dr. Shuster’s career has been marked by a commitment to education and excellence in teaching.  

Dr. Shuster received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, her medical degree from Mayo Medical School, residency and fellowship training in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine.

She lives in Rochester, Minnesota with her husband and sons.
