The Women’s Sexual Health Foundation On “Let’s Just Talk” - Saturday, October 8 On WBOB AM 1160

Cincinnati, Ohio – Women seeking information about their sexual health and well-being can turn to AM 1160 or http://www.wbob.com/ and click on listen live on Saturday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. EST when Lisa Martinez RN/JD, Executive Director of The Women’s Sexual Health Foundation and Dr. Beverly Whipple of the foundation’s professional advisory board are the featured guests on “Let’s Just Talk” with host Kathryn Raaker. The Women’s Sexual Health Foundation, founded in 2003 by Martinez, is a non-profit international organization whose primary mission is to educate women and healthcare providers on medical conditions that may impact their sexual health. This could include breast cancer, pelvic surgery, chemotherapy, medications and diabetes among others.

Women are asking questions. Does sexuality in older women exist? Does my physician take me seriously? Why did a routine hysterectomy cause such dramatic changes in my body? If I had only known the risks, would I have felt so alone with my symptoms? As a result, there is a great need to bring educational information from both the physical and psychological perspective to healthcare providers who traditionally have received little if any training in this area. And in turn this same information needs to get into the hands of women. Beverly Whipple PhD, RN, FAAN is the co-author of the international best-seller, The G Spot And Other Discoveries About Human Sexuality. She will join Lisa Martinez on the program and be available to answer listeners’ questions.

“For the most part, we have found that women are suffering in silence, but desperately want educational information on solutions,” Martinez said, “and they need to know that they are not alone. For whatever reason, women and healthcare providers have not historically held appropriate, healthy discussions concerning sexual health, which is part of who we are as human beings. Having a fulfilling sex life is part of having a full life.”

Tune in on Saturday, October 8 to AM 1160 or go to http://www.wbob.com/ and click on listen live to hear Lisa Martinez, Dr. Beverly Whipple and “Let’s Just Talk” host Kathryn Raaker discuss and take listener’s questions on what has for many been an elusive topic in the doctor’s office –women’s sexuality.
